We are taught in school that perseverance is a character trait identified as a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. In the body of Jesus Christ, it is revealed to us that perseverance is the faithfulness of our living God. Pastor Jean and Pastor Tom displayed this faithfulness when they continued their mission trip to Haiti despite the unexpected political unrest in Haiti. The turmoil was reportedly due to high-level government corruption and alleged missus of loans from Venezuela resulting in a 40 percent fuel price hike in the country that led the citizens to a boiling point on February 7th of this year. According to the U.S Department of State’s travel advisory, updated on February 14, 2019 ; Haiti is an active Level 4: Do not travel because protests, tire burning, and road blockages are frequent and unpredictable, and the U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Haiti. This did not discourage both Pastor Jean and Pastor Tom from proceeding with their mission to Haiti; after rescheduling their trip several times due to cancellations/delays atlas they were able to travel safely to Haiti in March. May we all continue to glorify God in prayer, fasting and worship; may his will be done. #ANewHaiti #HaitiMissionary #Haiti
